This course provides delegates with a sound understanding of modern vanilla equity options and markets. Training is delivered with an emphasis on practical knowledge and avoids complex mathematical formula.
This course is designed for those wanting a good understanding of equity derivatives, without yet needing to be a professional trader (see here for that). It will provide delegates with the practical skills, understanding and language that is required by a buy-side user, and/or when working with colleagues and clients in this field. A module on FX options can be added on demand.
The main products are described, focusing on the features that are relevant day-to-day.
Their usage is reviewed from a buy-side perspective, including many of the strategies deployed by the different types of end-users: investors, hedgers, and speculators.
The roles of the main players in the current markets are discussed, describing typical customer flows and the structure of supply-demand.
Due care is paid to details of market practices and conventions, and delegates will participate in exercises to acquire practical knowledge to take back to the workplace.
